He first crept in our family two years back very subtly. Little things were misplaced, passwords lost, it started to be harder to do paperwork. First we blamed it on other things. Then it became harder to find the right words and the doctors confirmed the diagnosis.
Then we have done research and looked for what we can do and established there is very little we can. No one knows how to leash this beast that slowly spreads their arms around.
Alzheimer is a sneaky thief. It steals the time and it does it in a very cruel way. It is firmly settled in our family and there is no escape. It reminds us of its presence every day in even slightest things. He has stolen a lot of independence and confidence. There is less and less left.
