Chanel is one of the people that you meet and never forget. Not very often can you meet someone this talented and determined and so down to earth. So when I met her for the first time a few years ago at Manchester Fashion Week, where she presented her first Fashion Show, I knew she is a girl to follow. Since then Chanel has built a brand CJE (click here to visit her website), enrolled in one of the most famous fashion colleges in the world, Central Saint Martins, was awarded young designer of the year 2015 in the U.K. and has now showcased her latest collection at Milan Fashion Week and so completed the big four. Wow!
When Chanel asked me if I would like to go to Milan to support her, I had my flights and hotel booked and a camera packed in literally 5 minutes.
Chanel’s show called Nona was inspired by her late grandmother and her touching life story. She had to leave Tripoli for Israel and leave behind all possessions in order to escape Mussolini’s plan to hand all Jewish people to the Nazis. The collection, Nona, is both sophisticated and timeless. It’s slender silhouettes, alluring cuts and sensual fabrics grab your attention.
